NAMIBIA - AMANZI NOORDOEWER

 

We got through the South African border and then we had to go and check in at the Namibian border. It can be a lengthly process as drivers have to take the registration papers for their vehicle as well as all ID, Passport, Drivers License etc. If you are a non driver they check and stamp. The Namibian border officials were less friendly however we got finished and moved on. I would hate to see it when it is really busy. The wait must be horrendous. We eventually found our camp "Amanzi" about 10km from Noordoewer. Well it was like stumbling on paradise. It was so gorgeous. Unfortunately the wind was blowing when we arrived, so things got a bit tense when we pitched the tent. We made camp, got everything as organised as possible and then settled down to enjoy the absolute silence. Joy indeed.
